Sa Capella - The Renaissance of an Icon

Sa Capella - The Renaissance of an Icon

| News

An Ibiza icon has been reborn this summer, thanks to an incredible restoration courtesy of the Anadon family, the island-born legends behind Café Mambo.

Sa Capella, housed within a 16th century chapel that’s hidden among the hills surrounding San Antonio, is a restaurant that first opened way back in 1978. Attracting a bohemian crowd that included Queen frontman Freddie Mercury, soprano superstar Montserrat Caballé and none other than King Juan Carlos I, it became legendary among the international jet-set decades ago.

Now celebrating a new era under esteemed Grupo Mambo guidance, Sa Capella’s essence remains unchanged but a state-of-the-art open kitchen and a new buzzing atmosphere is now the focus of the five-star fine dining experience.

High quality, local ingredients are at the heart of the new Sa Capella offering, where the grill is the star. Wild Balearic sea bass and Ibicencan lobster are cooked over an open fire, infused with the subtle aroma of smoke. Meanwhile, the finest grade cuts of meat have been sourced from all across the world, with Australian Wagyu Sirloin, Nebraska Flank Steak, and Spanish Fillet Steak all seasoned and cooked over wood and charcoal for added flavour. Rustic roasted potatoes with local rosemary and thyme, Mediterranean salad, and farm-fresh grilled vegetables add the finishing touches.

As the nights unfolds, diners tuck into luxurious plates of food cooked by expert chefs in a romantic setting that’s lit by hundreds of flickering candles and surrounded by ancient stone walls. Outside on the terrace, foodies with a passion for fine dining sip on incredible cocktails and some of the world’s best wines, which have been hand selected especially for Sa Capella’s cellar.

An unforgettable dining experience that uncovers another side to Ibiza, Sa Capella is already a favourite among the island’s biggest DJs, who couldn’t wait to check out the renovation and tuck into a good steak at our A-List-packed opening party. Come join us to mark a special occasion or simply to discover a different side to the white isle you never knew existed.
